The Glass Menagerie Scene 1

     Scene one of The Glass Menagerie is important because it introduces each character in the play. We gain knowledge of each characters background as well as their bond with one another. Tom and Laura's mother Amanda nag them about every little thing such as, Tom's chewing and Laura's gentleman callers. Tom is frustrated by his mother, and Laura remains shy and quiet they have a relationship between them that is sort of sympathetic towards each other for the mother they share.
